<br />Item No: 8A <br />Meeting Date: January 23, 2012 <br />Type of Business: Consent <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: James Ericson, City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 7887, a Resolution Appointing Representatives to <br />the Anoka County / Blaine Airport Advisory Commission <br /> <br />Introduction: <br /> <br />The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) established an airport advisory commission <br />to provide a mechanism for communities and their residents to interact with MAC and to act <br />as a liaison between the Anoka County / Blaine airport and the surrounding municipalities. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />On September 14, 2009, the City Council approved Resolution 7499 which appointed City <br />Administrator Ericson and resident Barbara Haake as City representatives to the Anoka <br />County / Blaine Airport Advisory Commission. Those terms expired at the end of 2011, as <br />evidenced by correspondence from the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) dated <br />January 11, 2012. <br /> <br />Pursuant to the MAC correspondence, the City needs to appoint (or reappoint) two <br />members to the Commission. I have spoken with resident Barbara Haake who has agreed <br />to continue serving on the commission if it is the will of the City Council. I would be happy <br />to continue to serve as the second representative unless a Council member has a strong <br />inclination in that regard. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Approve Resolution 7887 which reappoints resident Barbara Haake and City Administrator <br />Jim Ericson to serve two-year term on the Anoka County / Blaine Airport Advisory <br />Commission, in representation of the City of Mounds View. <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />________________________ <br />James Ericson <br />City Administrator <br /> <br />
