Item 06A <br />National Public Works Week Proclamation <br />May 14, 2012 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />OFFICE OF THE MAYOR <br />PROCLAMATIONPROCLAMATIONPROCLAMATIONPROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, all communities depend upon public works infrastructure, facilities, and <br />services for the well-being and livelihood of their residents, visitors, and commerce; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, public works maintenance workers, professionals, engineers, managers, and <br />employees are vitally important in the planning, designing, building, operation, and <br />maintenance of streets and trails, water supply and distribution, wastewater collection and <br />treatment, stormwater systems, solid waste systems, public buildings, parks, and other <br />facilities which serve the citizenry; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the community recognizes the dedication and skill of all public works <br />employees who play an essential role in preserving the health, safety, and comfort of <br />Mounds View; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the year 2012 marks the 52nd annual National Public Works Week which is <br />sponsored by the American Public Works Association; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mounds View deeply appreciates the important contributions the public works <br />profession has made to our city and to the progress of our community. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, Joe Flaherty, Mayor of the City of Mounds View, do hereby <br />proclaim the week of May 20-26, 2012 as <br /> <br />“NATIONAL PUBLIC WORKS WEEK” <br /> <br />in the City of Mounds View, and I call upon all Mounds View citizens and constituents to <br />join in this observation. <br /> <br />Given under my hand and Seal of the City of Mounds View, this 14th day of May, 2012. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br /> <br /> Joe Flaherty, Mayor
