He indicated the runway would not be lengthened but this would affect 1 <br />the traffic flying into north/south runway. 2 <br /> 3 <br />City Administrator Ericson indicated the Airport would be holding its Discover Aviation Days on 4 <br />June 2nd and 3rd. He noted a replica of the Vietnam Memorial would be present at the event and 5 <br />available for public viewing. He then reviewed the list of events scheduled for the event. 6 <br /> 7 <br />City Administrator Ericson stated the Spring Clean Up was successful again this year. A great 8 <br />deal of material was collected and a Fall Clean Up would be scheduled shortly. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked Mary Springer for her assistance with the city-wide Spring and Fall 11 <br />Clean Up. 12 <br /> 13 <br />City Administrator Ericson indicated Staff spoke with the developer of Red Oak Estates to 14 <br />remove the large piles of dirt at the corner of Long Lake Road and County Road H. After 15 <br />discussions, the developer explained he would be spreading the piles out and seeding the area. 16 <br /> 17 <br />City Administrator Ericson stated 35W would be closed on June 8th to allow MnDOT time to 18 <br />remove both County Road 10 bridges. Those bridges would be out of operation until sometime 19 <br />in November. 20 <br /> 21 <br />City Administrator Ericson explained he attended a recent conference where ethics in leadership 22 <br />was discussed. He indicated this was a great opportunity and he was pleased to have been able to 23 <br />attend the event. 24 <br /> 25 <br />City Administrator Ericson commented the Urban Land Institute of Minnesota would be hosted 26 <br />by the City of Mounds View on Thursday, June 14th to discuss Navigating the New Normal. The 27 <br />meeting would be recorded and rebroadcasted. 28 <br /> 29 <br />City Administrator Ericson stated the Employee Appreciation event would be held on June 13th 30 <br />from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at City Hall Park, weather permitting. He invited all Council 31 <br />members to attend. He reviewed the milestones achieved in the last year. He appreciated the 32 <br />efforts of City Staff and looked forward to the event. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Mayor Flaherty looked forward to the Employee Appreciation Event. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Council Member Stigney questioned why the helicopter noise in the City had increased. City 37 <br />Administrator Ericson stated the Life Link Helicopters were now operating out of the Anoka 38 <br />County Blaine Airport. The helicopters were dealing with life saving issues. He encouraged all 39 <br />noise concerns with the airport be brought to the airport’s attention. 40 <br /> 41 <br />C.
