PAUL, MN, June 28, 2012 — Ramsey County will host a pair of public meetings July 11 to present its <br />final, approved All-Hazard Mitigation Plan. <br /> <br />What: Countywide All-Hazard Mitigation Plan Public Meeting <br />When: First meeting at 2 p.m.; second meeting at 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2012 <br />Where: Ramsey County Public Works, 1425 Paul Kirkwold Drive, Arden Hills 55112 <br />More information: Denzil B. Mellors, Mitigation Project Lead / Emergency Management Coordinator, <br />Ramsey County Emergency Management and Homeland Security, (651) 266-1015 or <br />denzil.mellors@co.ramsey.mn.us <br /> <br />The Ramsey County All-Hazard Mitigation Plan is aimed at helping the communities in the county to <br />prepare for a variety of hazards, such as flooding, tornadoes and terrorist attacks before they occur. <br />The plan outlines goals, objectives and strategies for the county in order to coordinate efforts to <br />reduce the effects of disasters. This in turn will help to reduce the costs when hazards do occur. <br /> <br />The plan has been approved by the State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management <br />and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The adoption of this plan by Ramsey County and the <br />municipalities will allow them to be eligible for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program project funds. These <br />funds will help to offset the costs of some of the mitigation projects set forth in the plan. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />-30- <br /> <br />
