<br />Section 2 <br />2-30 Ramsey County Multijurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan | July 2012 <br /> Saint Paul Regional Water Services and its Chain of lakes supplemented by pumping from <br />the upper Mississippi River. <br /> The other source is Municipal Wells in New Brighton and White Bear Lake. <br />Drinking water quality is primarily the responsibility of the water utilities, but Ramsey County is <br />also served by 4 Watershed districts that not only look at the control of water drainage but water <br />quality issues that may affect surface and ground water. <br />The Ramsey County Public Works Department also monitors water quality of Surface water <br />Ramsey County is responsible for the operation and maintenance of a storm water drainage <br />system associated with its roads, buildings, and parks and open space property. The County <br />drainage system is regulated by the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) <br />permit program. Information is provided here on the County's Storm Water Pollution Prevention <br />Program (PDF), as well as links to other agencies involved in Ramsey County water <br />management. <br />2.8.4 Wastewater Services <br />Most cities have expanded their wastewater treatment facilities or will do so in the near future. <br />
