Mounds View City Council September 10, 2012 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Public Works Director DeBar noted Silver View Pond would have several aerators installed this 2 <br />week. He indicated the Council may need to consider dredging this pond in the future to return it 3 <br />to its original condition, along with reconstructing the trail. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Public Works Director DeBar commented the Community Center roof was completed. In 6 <br />addition, the HVAC cleaning had been done and the tiles were replaced in the Event Center. 7 <br />Staff was seeking bids on a new building automation system. He noted the Kitchen rooftop unit 8 <br />was shot and would need to be replaced. The unit was 14 years old and had a life expectancy of 9 <br />15 years. A recommendation would be brought to the Council regarding this matter in the near 10 <br />future. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Public Works Director DeBar noted the engineering department was working on updating the 13 <br />City’s Pavement Management Program. The City Forester has been addressing Oak Wilt issues, 14 <br />along with Emerald Ash Borer concerns. He noted Rick Wriskey has stated this would be his 15 <br />last year as the City Forester. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Public Works Director DeBar noted the exterior wall study was complete. The study found 18 <br />approximately $250,000 of work that needed to be completed on City buildings in the coming 19 <br />years. 20 <br /> 21 <br />2. Other Reports 22 <br /> 23 <br />Mayor Flaherty requested further information on the water level of Spring Lake. City 24 <br />Administrator Ericson indicated he would report back to the Council with this information. 25 <br /> 26 <br />City Administrator Ericson stated last week he attended a meeting with the Suburban Ramsey 27 <br />Family Collaborative. He commented on the items discussed at the meeting in further detail. 28 <br /> 29 <br />City Administrator Ericson explained that Tyco Sushi Restaurant and Sandwich King was closed 30 <br />last week by Ramsey County. Several issues needed to be addressed prior to reopening. 31 <br /> 32 <br />City Administrator Ericson stated the Metropolitan Airports Commission would meet on 33 <br />Wednesday, September 12th at 6:30 p.m. at the Blaine City Hall. He reviewed the proposed 34 <br />improvements for the airport in the near future, noting the east west runway would not be closed 35 <br />in the foreseeable future. 36 <br /> 37 <br />City Administrator Ericson stated he would be meeting with Ramsey County this week to discuss 38 <br />the recycling efforts of the City. 39 <br /> 40 <br />Council Member Mueller noted Pastor Jim Purdham passed away this last week. She sent her 41 <br />condolences to his family and congregation. 42 <br /> 43
