Resolution 7991, Ordering the Abatement of Hazardous Conditions Existing 7
at 8379 Red Oak Drive. 8
9
Housing/Code Enforcement Inspector Anderson stated the property at 8379 Red Oak Drive was 10
in need of abatement due to the existing hazardous conditions on site. Staff has been responding 11
to violations of City Code at this site for the past two years. He explained an order to vacate the 12
premises was ordered as the site does not currently have basic utilities. The building was not 13
currently fit for occupancy and has been a concern for several years. Staff recommends the 14
Council order the abatement. 15
16
MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Mueller. To table action on this request to a future date. 17
18
Council Member Stigney questioned if this item should be tabled or postponed. He 19
recommended a specific date be set within the motion. 20
21
City Attorney Riggs stated a motion to postpone should be date specific. This would assure that 22
the matter was brought back to the Council with further information at a future date. 23
24
Mayor Flaherty indicated he would like to table action on this item this evening. 25
26
Council Member Mueller stated staff would continue to use resources to manage the code 27
violations on this property. She requested action be taken sooner than later. 28
29
Council Member Hull added that the neighboring property owners would also like action taken 30
against this property, as it has become a nuisance. 31
32
Council Member Gunn questioned why action was being postponed at this time. 33
34
Mayor Flaherty stated new information would be coming to the Council regarding this property. 35
He requested the item be tabled for four to six months. 36
37
SUBSTITUTE MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Mueller.
