Finance 3 <br />Director Beer stated many of these were for homes in foreclosure and when the properties were 4 <br />sold, the assessments would be paid in full. 5 <br /> 6 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 7999, Adopting 7 <br />a Special Assessment Levy for Delinquent Public Utility Accounts. 8 <br /> 9 <br />City Administrator Ericson questioned how the Council would like to proceed on the Ness case. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Mayor Flaherty suggested the item remain on the list as action would be taken by the Council in 12 <br />two weeks. 13 <br /> 14 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 15 <br /> 16 <br />B. Public Hearing to Consider Resolution 8000, Adopting a Special Assessment 17 <br />Levy for Unpaid Diseased Tree, False Alarm, Administrative Offense, and 18 <br />Nuisance Abatement Charges. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Finance Director Beer stated the City had outstanding unpaid diseased tree, false alarm, 21 <br />administrative offenses and nuisance abatement charges. He commented the City had made 22 <br />numerous attempts to collect on these fees and was recommending the Council certify these 23 <br />assessments with the County. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Mayor Flaherty opened the public hearing at 7:55 p.m. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Hearing no public input, Mayor Flaherty closed the public hearing at 7:55 p.m. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Council Member Mueller stated one item on the list was an administrative fine for failing to 30 <br />receive a rental dwelling license. She questioned if this rental property should continue if the 31 <br />license was in arrears. Finance Director Beer was uncertain of a license had been received to 32 <br />date. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Mayor Flaherty discussed the need to remove diseased trees to ensure that the entire community 35 <br />was not plagued with tree loss. 36 <br /> 37 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull.
