Item 07G
December 10, 2012
Page 2

Discussion:

Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission: Staff received two (2) reappointment
applications and one (1) new volunteer
application. The Park, Recreation and Forestry
Commission recommended reappointing John
Kroeger and Darren Peterson. Also, at the last
Park, Recreation and Forestry Commission
Meeting, the Commission reappointed Dale
Aukee as Chair, and Darren Peterson as Vice
Chair.

Planning Commission: Staff received two (2) reappointment applications and two (2) new
volunteer applications. The Planning Commission recommended
appointing Paul Schiltgen (reappointment), Holly Smilth
(reappointment, but requests appointment to finish Gary
Meehlhause’s term), John Elofson (new appointment), and Cindy
Carvelli-Yu (new appointment).

Police Civil Service: Robin Marion resigned on the Police Civil Service Commission (term
seat expires on December 31, 2012). Staff received two (2) new
volunteer applications – Gary Rundle and Terrance Broos. The
Police Civil Service only reviewed one (1) application, Gary Rundle.
The Police Civil Service Commission did not recommend Mr. Rundle
to serve. Staff received Mr. Broos’ application after the application
deadline, and therefore, the Police Civil Service Commission did not
have the opportunity to review his application.

Streets and Utilities Committee: Staff received one (1) application to the Streets and Utilities
Committee – (Paul Schiltgen). Todd Lang and Sean Walther
did not wish to reapply nor stay on as committee members. If
the City Council approves Mr. Schiltgen’s appointment to this
Committee, then this Committee will continue to have two (2)
vacant seats.

Recommendation:

Attached are all the submitted applications to these Commissions/Committees. It is
recommended that the City Council consider these applications, and approve appointments to
their respective commission and committees. Attached is Resolution 8036 for your
consideration.

Respectfully submitted,

_____________________
Desaree Crane
