Mounds View City Council November 13, 2012 Regular Meeting Page 7 Police Chief Kinney provided comment on the “Towards Zero Deaths” campaign. He indicated 1 the City received a grant to assist with these efforts to ensure motorists are driving safe and sober 2 through Mounds View. 3 4 Police Chief Kinney stated there were 35 events schedule for National Night Out and Officer 5 Niko made as many stops as possible. He indicated Niko was also able to put on an event at this 6 year’s Festival in the Park. 7 8 Council Member Hull asked how the new Interceptor was working for the officers. Police Chief 9 Kinney indicated the reports were good on the vehicle and the officers were adjusting to the 10 interior. He looked forward to seeing how these vehicles worked this winter. 11 12 Acting Mayor Mueller explained a committee was being formed to assist in raising funds for the 13 City’s K-9 unit. She noted a City-wide Tupperware party would be held in January. 14 15 Acting Mayor Mueller questioned if this 3rd quarter report would be available to the public. 16 Police Chief Kinney indicated he would have this information available on the City’s website. 17 18 City Administrator Ericson stated he would be attending the League of Minnesota Cities meeting 19 on November 14th. He stated on Saturday, November 17, 2012 there would be an Open House at 20 Lambert Park at 10:00 a.m. He encouraged all to attend as the event will showcase the new 21 amenities available at the park. 22 23 C.
