(doing <br />business as The Mermaid) to the Mermaid Acquisition Group, <br />Inc., (doing business as The Mermaid) located at 2200 County <br />Highway 10 <br /> <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />In accordance with Chapter 502 of the Mounds View City Code, a public hearing is required <br />for all liquor license transfers. The Mermaid Acquisition Group, Inc., has a management <br />agreement with MoundsVista, Inc. to manage the facility. MoundsVista, Inc., wishes to <br />transfer their On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor License to the Mermaid Acquisition Group, Inc. It is <br />the intention of Mermaid Acquisition Group, Inc., to purchase the property later this year. <br />Michael Anderson, President of Mermaid Acquisition Group, Inc., will be appearing at this <br />City Council meeting to answer any questions. <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />The Mermaid Acquisition Group, Inc., submitted all required city liquor license application <br />materials and fees. The Mermaid Acquisition Group, Inc., has also submitted an application <br />for an Outdoor Liquor Consumption Endorsement to sell liquor outside on their patio (weather <br />permitting). The following investigations and inspections have been conducted to determine <br />whether there is cause for the City to deny the application: <br /> <br />Police Inquiry and Investigations (Mounds View Police Department) <br />The Mounds View Police Department has issued a satisfactory report for The Mermaid. Staff <br />submitted a background check application on the president of Mounds View Acquisition <br />Group, Inc., Michael Anderson, to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA). <br />Background check from the BCA came back satisfactory. <br /> <br />City Billing (Mounds View Finance Department) <br />The Mermaid is up to date on payment of all utility bills. The Finance Department issued a <br />satisfactory report. <br /> <br />In addition, Mermaid Acquisition Group, Inc., paid all delinquent Ramsey County property <br />taxes. There are no outstanding property taxes. <br /> <br />Fire Inspection (Mounds View Fire Marshal) <br />The City’s Fire Marshal has issued a satisfactory report for The Mermaid.
