<br />Item No: 7A <br />Meeting Date: Feb 28, 2011 <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: James Ericson, City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Consideration of Resolution 7733, a Resolution Revising Section <br />1.27 of the Mounds View Personnel Manual Relating “Sexual <br />Harassment Prevention” <br /> <br />Introduction: <br /> <br />The City Council Directed staff to review the City’s Personnel Manual and to bring forth <br />updates and revisions as may be necessary to ensure the policies are appropriate, <br />consistent with applicable laws and representative of the Council’s goals and policies. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />Recognizing some deficiencies in the existing language, Staff requested the City Attorney <br />review Section 1.27 of the Personnel Manual relating to Offensive Behavior and Sexual <br />Harassment and propose a revision. Kennedy & Graven prepared a revision which was <br />reviewed by the City Council at their work session on January 3, 2011 and again on February <br />7, 2011. The City Council expressed support of the proposed revision and directed staff to <br />prepare a resolution to formally adopt the new language. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve Resolution 7733, a resolution authorizing a <br />revision to Section 1.27 of the Personnel Manual regarding sexual Harassment Prevention. <br />The new policy will replace the previous language in its entirety. <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />________________________ <br />James Ericson <br />City Administrator <br /> <br /> <br />
