<br /> <br />www.ci.mounds-view.mn.us <br />9 <br />On June 24th, members of the police department participated in the annual Law Enforcement <br />Torch Run benefitting Special Olympics Minnesota. This event consists of numerous legs <br />across the state, culminating in the final ceremonies at Bierman Field in Minneapolis. Mounds <br />View officers ran the torch to members of the New Brighton Police Department. Last year <br />across the state, this event raised more than $1.6 million for the Special Olympics. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Mounds View officers <br /> in the torch run on <br />Silver Lake Road. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />A re-design of the squad vehicles has occurred. Two recently purchased vehicles are now <br />designed in a black and white traditional design accompanied with new graphics <br />incorporating the city logo. The transition to all black and white designs will gradually occur in <br />future years. The black and white squad is a higher visibility vehicle that is universally <br />recognized as a police squad car. <br /> <br />
