At this time, Mr. Bauer was requesting that th e condition requiring a 2 <br />hard surface driveway be removed from his CUP. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Mayor Fl aherty opened the public hearing at 7:07 p.m. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Hearing no public input, Mayor Flaherty closed the public hearing at 7:07 p.m. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Mayor Flaherty noted he toured the Bauer Welding last Thursday and indicated this company 9 <br />was a great addition to the City of Mounds View. He thanked Mr. Bauer for his fine facility and 10 <br />did not object to the CUP amendment. 11 <br /> 12 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Mueller. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 7808, 13 <br />Approving a Conditional Use Permit Amendment for Bauer Welding, 2159 Mustang Drive. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Council Member Gunn stated Bauer Welding was a great asset to the community and thanked 16 <br />them for their many years of service to the City of Mounds View. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Mayor Flaherty encouraged Mr. Bauer to participate in Festival in the Park. 19 <br /> 20 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 21 <br /> 22 <br />B. Resolution 7807, Approving the 2011 Mounds View Festival in the Park 23 <br />Contract. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated the Council was being asked to approve a contract 26 <br />between the non-profit Festival in the Park organization and the City of Mounds View. She 27 <br />noted the only change from last year’s contract was the Festivals date. Staff recommends 28 <br />approval of the contract as submitted. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Council Member Stigney questioned if the contribution from Twin Cities Gateway CVB off set 31 <br />the expenses needed from the City. City Administrator Ericson explained those funds were 32 <br />restricted and had to be used for advertising and signage. The expenses from the City were to 33 <br />pay for public works and police services for the event. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Mayor Flaherty asked how plans were coming along for the Festival. Assistant City 36 <br />Administrator Crane noted the layout of the park would be slightly altered due to the water tower 37 <br />rehabilitation but all events would take place as planned. The parade was changed to be held in 38 <br />the morning instead of the afternoon. 39 <br /> 40 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Mueller.
