Mounds View City Council Page Four 1111 Regular Meeting March 28, 1994 MOTION/SECOND: Wuori/Quick to Adopt Resolution No. 4533 Transferring to the Mounds View EDA the Control, Authority and Operation of the City's Development Districts and Programs and the Tax Increment Financing Districts Therein VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried COUNCIL BUSINESS A. Consideration of Award of Golf Course Construction Bid Mary Saarion, Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry introduced Paul Miller, Design Associate with William, Gill and Associates to present the information on the bid award for the contractor of the Mounds View Golf Links and Practice Center. Mr. -Miller reported that seven bids had been received and that Veit Companies was the low bidder. Veit is ready to begin as soon as the bid is awarded. Miller further reported that Veit has a good reputation and good references and experience. MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Quick to Award the Low Bid to Veit Companies, IIIInc. for the Construction of the Golf Course and to Authorize Staff to Execute a Contract with Veit Companies, Inc. for the Construction of the Golf Course Bid VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried Councilmember Trude stated that in reviewing the golf course documents she found one item that she wanted to bring to the attention of the other Councilmembers and the public for disclosure reasons. Trude stated that she interpreted a portion of the Prospectus to mean that the City could end up paying salaries and maintenance of the golf course. Trude stated that she did not want it overstated to the taxpayers that the golf course presented no risks to them. VOTE: 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried B. Consideration of Adoption of Resolution Nos. 4530 and 4531 for the ISTEA Grant Mary Saarion, Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry, explained that she had completed dual grant applications for 80a federal funding of a pedestrian bridge over Highway 10 connecting the Long Lake Road sidewalk. Saarion further explained that the engineering plan of the bridge would provide for a switchback ramp leading from • the bridge connecting to Long Lake Road on the south side of Highway 10 and a spiral ramp located on the north side of Highway 10 with a trail leading to the Long Lake Road sidewalk.
