The program provides residents an opportunity to dispose of unwanted
items in a convenient, cost effective manner.
The City's portion of the program is funded through Ramsey County SCORE grant. The City
was allotted $25,420 for 1997 of which$6,000 was budgeted for Mounds View's subsidized
recycling portion of the clean up days. In past years, the City has subsidized two appliances, two
car batteries and eight car tires per household. The City's portion for 1996 amounted to $4,903,
excluding promotional activities. The fees for items not subsidized are collected directly from
• the resident as outlined in the attached fee schedule.
Throughout the years staff has worked with Twin City Refuse and has had great success with this
provider. Staff has tentatively scheduled Spring Clean Up day for Saturday, May 31 and Fall
Clean Up day for Saturday, September 27, 1997.
