BOARD OF DIRECTORS DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> The Board normally meets once a month on the second Thursday commencing <br /> at 7:00 p.m. The Board approves the annual budget and work program; <br /> establishes annual dues rate; establishes program and legislative policy <br /> priorities; appoints members of legislative policy committees; nominates the <br /> 10 city elected officials on the Transportation Advisory Board(TAB); appoints <br /> 8 city staff members to the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and is <br /> responsible for the overall management and direction of AMM staff. <br /> • <br /> Due to the two-term board limitation,there will be some new Board <br /> Directors elected. Nominations are solicited for both elective and <br /> administrative city officials from throughout the entire metropolitan area <br /> and especially from cities under 10,000 population. <br /> IV. REMINDER: INNOVATIVE PROJECTS AND PEACEMAKER <br /> AWARDS <br /> We would like to remind you to send in your entries for the 1997 AMM <br /> Innovative City and Peacemaker Awards competition. Information packets <br /> were mailed 10 days ago. All entries must be postmarked no later the Friday, <br /> May 9. The winners will be honored at the Annual Meeting on May 29, 1997. <br /> If you have any questions, contact Cheryl at 215-4000. <br /> Attached is a listing of current boardmembers and officers. <br /> Please contact Vern Peterson in the AMM office (215-4000) should you want more <br /> information concerning these matters. <br /> DISTRIBUTION NOTE: This bulletin has been mailed to mayors and <br /> manager/administrators only.
