1.71.1.2 <br /> WAI <br /> Continuum <br /> • <br /> CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNPROJECT MANAGEMENT <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW CONSTRUCTION SERVICES <br /> APRIL 21, 1997 MASTER PLANNING <br /> MEETING MINUTES INTERIOR DESIGN <br /> The following items were discussed by the City Council, City Administrator,Rick Kuehlwein, <br /> VB Diggs and Dave Wolterstorff,WAI Continuum Architects. <br /> • Demolition of the Bel Rae and replacement-estimated at 50,000 square feet. <br /> -Actual Square Footage: <br /> City Items: Existing Bel Rae 22,700 square feet <br /> Additions 11,100 square feet <br /> City Gym 11.500 square feet <br /> Subtotal 45,300 square feet <br /> VB Diggs 37,950 square feet <br /> Total 83,250 square feet <br /> -Comparison of 40,000 square feet of St. Anthony Community Center at a new construction cost <br /> of$3.7 million. <br /> 11110 -Temporary housing costs of Children's Home Society--WAI/Continuum attachment <br /> memorandum, April 21, 1997. <br /> -Other related costs such as demolition and increased square footage could total <br /> approximately$250,000.00 added to the current referendum. <br /> -Air quality/smells of existing building. Removal of absorptive materials and <br /> cleaning of the interior would make vast improvements but would not offer any guarantees. The <br /> possible additional solution without guarantee would be an add cost to seal the interior prior to <br /> finish materials being used.
