Kennedy proclaimed National Public Works Week as an annual <br /> reminder of the many ways public Works contributes to our quality of life. For many years, <br /> public works professionals across North America have applauded and shared the <br /> accomplishments of those in their profession During this week-long celebration,professionals <br /> take part in events and activities that increase public awareness of and appreciation for the public <br /> works profession. <br /> Staff requests the Mayor read and adopt the accompanying proclamation, proclaiming May 18 <br /> through May 24, 1997 as National Public Works Week in the City of Mounds View. During this <br /> week residents may visit the Public Works Facility. This is also the time in which tours of the <br /> municipal buildings are given to the Pinewood Elementary students. <br /> • <br /> Staff will also continue the open house on May 31, 1997,the day in which the Annual Clean Up <br /> Day is held. Residents are encouraged to tour the facility, view various pieces of equipment, visit <br /> with operators, and enjoy refreshments.
