As his
letter indicated, you can proceed to the predesign component of the project.
The letter also states that your grant is a maximum amount not to exceed
• $375,000. The factors that will determine the actual amount of the contract
include:
• that required match is documented and committed;
• if the match is an "in-kind" match, the "in-kind" portion is
approved by the Department of Finance;
• expenditures are eligible under authorizing legislation and are
considered to be an appropriate use of state bond funds
• if a nonprofit corporation is going to operate the program, the
lease and operating agreement will need to be executed and
approved by the Department of Finance
• if a nonprofit corporation is going to operate the program, the
Commissioner of the Department of Children, Families and
Learning must certify that the nonprofit has the financial
strength to operate the program for the term of the bond.
The first step in the grant process will be to schedule a meeting relatively soon
with staff from the Department of Administration to get the predesign process
started. Please give me a call at 612/297-4832, or email at
nancy.valento@state.mn.us so we can get started. Thank you.
Sincerely,
• Nancy Valento Lia-17,Y1
Planning Grants Coordinator
Division of Management Assistance
550 Cedar Street • St. Paul, Minnesota • 55101-2273
Phone (612) 296-6104 • FAX (612) 296-3272 • TTY(612) 297-2094 • E-mail: Children©state.mn.us
