Officer
On behalf of the Pinewood Elementary School Community, I want to
thank you, the Police Department and City of Mounds View for your continued
support of the DARE Program at Pinewood. We can't tell you enough how
much it means to the students and their families to have such a positive
experience with a police officer. The information and learning that is a part of
• the DARE program is essential in the development of our young people. We
want you to know that we deeply value the DARE program as a part of the
experience we can offer our students.
Further, we need to share with you the fact that we have seen Tim
Brennan do an absolutely outstanding job in his role as our DARE Officer. Even
though this is his first year, he has demonstrated a deep commitment and caring
for the students with whom he has worked. His connections with the students
has been wonderful to see and the results of the Bike-a-thon fund raising is
certainly indicative of the students' support for the program and Tim. This was
our most successful year, yet.
Tim's ability to work well with others was also noticed and appreciated.
He is very well organized, knew when to seek assistance and always did so in an
appropriate and gracious way. He worked with the PTA, the office staff and the
Principal to assure that the DARE program was an integral part of our school.
He has truly been a valued member of our staff. We hope you will share him
with us again next year!
We want you to know how enthusiastic we are in our support of the
DARE program for our students. Recognizing there are some criticisms of the
• program in the media these days; please understand we have no reliable way to
measure the number of students this program truly impacts. We find greater
Equal Opportunity for Education and Employment
