Consideration of the City Hall HVAC System.
Mr.Ulrich explained that at the last Council Work Session, staff presented an introduction and proposal from
NorAm Energy Management for correction of the HVAC system at City Hall. Since that time, staff requested a
more detailed breakdown of the proposal costs, based on the preliminary estimates. Staff also talked with the
city's maintenance company and came up with some other alternatives which staff,NorAm or another
engineering company could pursue. Mr.Ulrich proceeded to outline the alternatives, including the estimated
time it would take to complete. The various options included 1) replacing only the inoperable air conditioning
units on the roof with new•, 2) replacing all of the air conditioning units on the roof; 3) replacing the old air
conditioning units with dual(heating and cooling)units and removing the boiler system; and 4) replace the
entire heating and cooling system and install a new HVAC system.
Mr.Ulrich briefly explained how the current HVAC system is set up at City Hall. The system,in addition to •
being out of order is difficult to control.
