What are you willing to do as an(employee, administrator, elected official)to improve the <br /> work climate at the City of Mounds View? <br /> Probes: Please be specific. <br /> What do you want? <br /> What will you do? <br /> These questions and probes yielded considerable notes for the consultant to help him identify • <br /> characteristics and behaviors descriptive of the communication climate at the City of Mounds <br /> View. Further,the responses gained are crucial in the design of a training seminar series to be <br /> offered for the professional development of City personnel. <br /> The report is divided into Discoveries and Recommendations as sections. In the recommendations <br /> section is listed a potential series of seminars for professional development. <br /> Discoveries <br /> Preface <br /> The consultant found a committed workforce at the City of Mounds View with a collective sense <br /> of completing work well and in a professional manner. He further found that the City <br /> Administrator and his administrative support staff are genuinely interested in assessing the quality <br /> of communication in all work units in the City in an effort to encourage open communication as <br /> well as improve communication if necessary. Finally, the City Council under the Mayor's <br /> leadership willingly are committing resources to have an impartial professional consultant conduct <br /> an assessment regarding the communication climate and define means to continue to develop <br /> better communication. Overall: the consultant felt that the City of Mounds View is a good place <br /> to work, but that communication needs to be improved to assure the quality of the workplace. <br />
