UNAPPROVED <br /> Page 2 <br /> August 25, 1997 • <br /> Mounds View City Council <br /> 1 MOTION/SECOND: Koopmeiners/Quick to approve the minutes of the August 11, 1997 City Council <br /> 2 Meeting as presented in writing. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> 5 <br /> 6 ACCEPTANCE OF ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES: <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Planning Commission,May 21,1997;June 4,1997;June 18,1997: <br /> 9 <br /> 10 MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Koopmeiners to accept the Planning Commission Meeting minutes for May 21, <br /> 11 1997,June 4, 1997 and June 18, 1997. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> 14 <br /> 15 SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS: <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Presentation of plaque to outgoing City Council member Julie Trude: <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Mr.Whiting read a plaque of recognition and appreciation from the City of Mounds View to Julie Trude. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 CONSENT AGENDA: 110 <br /> 22 <br /> 23 MOTION/SECOND: Koopmeiners/Quick to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> 26 <br /> 27 RESIDENTS REOUESTS AND COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR: <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Mayor McCarty explained that this is the time for residents to address the council with concerns on items that <br /> 30 are not on the Agenda. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Bill Fritz,8072 Long Lake Road,asked about the status of the extension of the airport road which was <br /> 33 addressed at the Council meeting in July. Mr.Whiting stated he has spoken with staff about this issue <br /> 34 and will once again contact the City of Blaine. Mayor McCarty noted that this road was moved to the North <br /> 35 and is now in Anoka County so other jurisdictions will need to be involved as well. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 David Jahnke,8428 Eastwood Road,wished to let the Council know of the impact that Julie Trude has had in <br /> 38 Mounds View and extended his appreciation of her hard work on the behalf of families and small children in <br /> 39 the community. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Jerry Linke,2319 Knoll Drive,thanked Julie Trude for her service on the City Council during the time that he <br /> 42 served on the Council,stating that her services would truly be missed. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 Mr.Linke stated on July 28th,the Council discussed the possible sale of public land. At that time he was <br /> 45 assured by Mayor McCarty that this was in the very preliminary stages and that the Park&Recreation <br /> 46 Department would be notified before any action was taken and that land would be found to replace any park <br /> 47 land sold. He did not attend the following council meeting,however the Agenda for the August 11th meeting • <br /> 48 included reviewing an exclusive negotiations agreement with a developer for public land. <br />
