When the Business
Park East was developed, a proposed segment of Jackson Street was added to the Municipal State Aid Street
(MSA) system in the City of Mounds View. This segment of street was never constructed, nor will it be
constructed in the future, because of the Business Park expansion. This segment of roadway is 0.28miles. This
mileage has been proposed to be redesignated to Ardan Avenue from Red Oak Drive to Long Lake Road.
The City is scheduled to receive Ramsey County Road H2 in 1996, as part of the turnback program. This
segment of roadway will be added to the City's MSA mileage. Resolution No. 4912 has been prepared for
Council's consideration also. These three resolutions must be submitted to the Commissioner of
Transportation for his approval.
The City has a minimal amount of designated mileage remaining and the 0.28 miles, coupled with the
remaining mileage would be utilized to complete the link between the abovementioned roads. This will
complete the City's eligible State Aid mileage, not including the remainder or the County Turnback Roads.
Should Council have any questions or concerns regarding this matter, please feel free to call me.
Michael Ulrich, Director of Public Works
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Resolution No. 4910, Revoking a Municipal State Aid Street, and Adopt Resolution No. 4911 & 4912
Establishing a Municipal State Aid Streets.
