Consideration <br /> Concepts, and Mr. Richard Jahnke, Senior of Resolution <br /> Leasing Representative for Paster No. 387-94 <br /> Enterprises, were present. Regarding <br /> Variance <br /> Planner Harrington reminded the Planning Request of <br /> Commission that this item was discussed Concr ts, I <br /> at the May 18th meeting. He explained onceHgnc. , <br /> 2537 Hig <br /> that the applicant has requested a hway <br /> variance to allow 238 square feet of 10, Planning <br /> sign text at their proposed facility in Case No. 384-94 <br /> Mounds View Square Shopping Center and <br /> that the Code currently only allows 100 <br /> square feet of sign area per business <br /> occupant of the shopping center. The <br /> Planning Commission, at their May 18th <br /> meeting, directed Staff to draft a <br /> resolution allowing for 185 square feet <br /> of sign area which was arrived at based <br /> on the demonstrated need by the <br /> applicant and also based on the size of <br /> the other signage in the Mounds View <br /> Square Shopping Center. <br /> The applicants spoke of the need for <br /> larger signage due to the competition <br /> with Block Buster Video in Blaine, <br /> Columbia Heights and the new facility on <br /> I-35E and Highway 96.
