1995 PROGRAM/PERFORMANCE BUDGET <br /> DIVISION WATER PROGRAM WATER PRODUCTION <br /> FUNDING SOURCE WATER <br /> PROGRAM PURPOSE <br /> Provide the highest quality potable water for the city's customers, using the most modern and up to date methods <br /> and equipment, and comply with all Safe Drinking Water Act regulations. <br /> PROGRAM SUMMARY <br /> The division has six deep wells with a pumping capacity of 7.2 million gallons per day, (mgd). With three (3) iron <br /> and manganese removals plants capable of treating 5.76 mgd. The average daily demand is 1.5 mgd, with a summer <br /> time peak demand of 3.5 mgd. Capital requests for this program are lab equipment ($ 1,500), and a laptop computer <br /> ($ 2,200). <br /> 1995 PROGRAM OBJECTIVES <br /> To meets the divisions objectives, staff must consistently test raw and finished water. Many of these tests are <br /> performed in-house with lab equipment at one of the treatment plants. Tests performed are chlorine (free & total), <br /> manganese, iron, ph, hardness, and fluoride. Samples for bacteria and fluoride are taken on a scheduled basis and <br /> submitted to the Minnesota Department of Health for testing also. <br /> 1995 PROGRAM PERFORMANCE MEASURES' <br /> 1. Comply with all Safe Water Drinking Water regulations. <br /> 2. Perform daily test of finished water. <br /> 3. Operate wells as efficiently as possible. <br /> 4. Reduce City related water complaints to ten (10) per year. <br />
