1995 PROGRAM/PERFORMANCE BUDGET <br /> DEPARTMENT Parks, Recreation & Forestry PROGRAM Youth Recreation Activity <br /> FUNDING SOURCE Participant Fees <br /> The purpose of this program is to offer recreation activity <br /> PROGRAM PURPOSE opportunities for the youth of the community. Activities include <br /> after-school activities, school vacation activities, youth athletic <br /> programs, trips, safety programs, clinics, instructional classes, pre- <br /> school programs, parties and special events. <br /> Youth program fees covers the cost and services <br /> PROGRAM SUMMARY ofleaders/instructors/coaches/referees and other part time <br /> recreation staff, activity supplies, equipment and materials, bus <br /> transportation costs, admission fees and other activity related costs. <br /> In addition, a portion of fees contributes to the salary of the Program Supervisor. <br /> The objectives of this program is to offer quality <br /> 1995 PROGRAM OBJECTIVES recreation activities for the children of the community. It <br /> is the objective of the department to offer new interests to <br /> the children, to encourage new friendships, to enjoy <br /> recreational pursuits, to occupy latchkey children with supervised activities, to learn new skills and <br /> abilities, to have an avenue to use their talents in participation of athletics, cultural arts and music. <br /> 1. A measure of quality of programs is through <br /> 1995•`PROGRAM PERFORMANCE MEASURES the distribution and return of program <br /> evaluations. This will provide a good measure <br /> regarding the satisfaction of youth activities. <br /> 2. The amount of participation in a given program is also a measure of the attractiveness of a program, <br /> the satisfaction of service and enjoyment experienced in activities. <br />
