Specific objectives for 1995 are as follows: <br />Continue review of highway and County Road turnback proposals. Streets Division, <br />Adminishation Program. <br />Enhance employee knowledge and productivity through training in computer <br />technology and provision of efficient equipment and tools. <br />Develop and adopt street reconstruction standards and a 5 year reconstruction program. <br />Streets Division, Pavement Management Program. <br />• The city's water distribution system is in need of additional main valves. There are <br />numerous areas in the city where the distance between valves is exceeding AWWA <br />standards. In case of emergencies such as water main breaks, far too many customers <br />are without water service. Staff is recommending that five (5) valve per year be <br />installed for the next the (10) years. Water Division, Utility Management Program. <br />Develop a Sanitary Sewer maintenance and inspection program. <br />Wastewater Division, Underground Inspection Program. <br />Operate and maintain a quality water utility. Water Division, Water <br />Production Program. <br />Plan and establish a Storm Water facility program. Surface Water <br />Management, Storm Sewer System Management. <br />• Review the water meter reading program and ownership of water <br />meters.
