Staff Projections <br />1996: <br />Cost <br />F-T Administrative Assistant <br />It is anticipated that the economic development activities will increase over the next <br />two years with the implementation of an aggressive marketing program, redevelopment <br />of the City's main thoroughfares and housing rehabilitation generating the need for a <br />part time administrative assistant to focus on economic development and marketing <br />activities. Approximately 20 hours per week would be dedicated to these activities <br />and could be fulfilled with a reclassification of the current Administrative Clerk <br />position to Administrative Assi4ant Aide. <br />10. MARKETING <br />Program Function <br />The Economic Development Coordinator hire in 1994 was also charged with developing and <br />monitoring the marketing activities of the City. The initiation of aggressive marketing <br />activities will be implemented to increase the positive awareness of the City and elevate the <br />lines of communication betweenthe City, its residents and the business community. <br />5 Year Goals <br />1995: <br />• Begin Phase I of a comprehensive Marketing Program as defined by the Marketing Task <br />Force. (beginning stages for entry \exit signs, production of materials with new slogan, city <br />hall communication plan). <br />• Publish a Business Directory 'listing key information regarding Mounds View Businesses. <br />• Encourage and participate in joint activities with the Mounds View Business Association. <br />• Develop Appreciation Materials for businesses and outstanding citizens <br />1996: <br />• Continually communicate with Mounds View businesses through the Business Association. <br />• Publish an update Community Profile including map of Mounds View outlining parks and <br />key points of interest. <br />• Complete Phase I of Mounds View Marketing Program. <br />22 <br />
