Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.) SUMMARY• 4 On Friday September 2 , 1994 staff received the bids for the skidloader update. Staff received only one bid. Much to staff's surprise, the program offered by the manufacturer of the City's current skidloader has discontinued the replacement program. Carlson Tractor and Equipment Co. has bid a new 1994 model 785 and a 1995 model 885. The 1995 model is a new model that replaces the 785. The manufacturer has increased the horsepower, reduced the sound ratings and made many other safety and operational improvements. Since the trade - in program has been discontinued, staff recognizes this moment as perhaps the best opportunity to make one last , trade for the most current and improved model. After this trade, if f approved, the City would then keep the skidloader and begin to schedule it for replacement in the Vehicle and Equipment Schedule. Maintenance expenses for the existing skidloader for the remaining of the year would total approximately $800. This will include new tires, new cutting edge, change of all fluids and service. Bids received: Carlson Tractor & Equipment: 1994 Model 785 $3,261. 03 1995 Model 885 $3,400. 55 Staff received $1200 for the update in 1994, and a proposed $1500 for the 1995 budget if adopted. Since the new 1995 model 885 will not be available until January, staff is proposing to transfer $1200 from the 1994 budget to 1995 and add $700. 55 to purchase a new skidloader in 1995. The City will continue to utilize it's current machine with no penalty or additional cost.
