Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.) SUMMARY; In February and March of this year, as part of the Focus 2000 process, the Focus 2000 Steering Committee was asked to develop both a Mission and Vision Statement for the Community. Brian Sjoberg from the Growth, Development and Business Issue Project Team, Stefan Benson and Bob Easton from the Housing and Neighborhoods Issue Project Team and Dan Nelson and Bill Wilson from the City Government Issue Project Team drafted these statements as requested. At' the April, 1994 Council/Staff Annual Strategic Planning Session, these statements were presented to the Council for consideration. After making minimal changes to their original form, the Council agreed the statements were well written and describe the community in ways which are consistent with the future of the City. Also as part of the Focus 2000 program, the City is embarking on a comprehensive customer service program for all City employees to participate in. The first session is scheduled for Wednesday, September 14 . It is the intention to have the employees 'sign off' on these statements in a symbolic effort to make a commitment to the quality of service that is delivered to the community.
