Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.) SUMMARY: When the City's Code Enforcement Officer/Recycling Coordinator departed in April of this year, the Council responded to the needs of the community by creating a Planning Associate position that would do full-time code enforcement. The other duties and responsibilities of that position, recycling, have not been performed since this reassignment. In order to resume these duties and responsibilities, it is proposed an intern be hired. This would be a part-time position, up to` 19 hours per week, with no benefits. The proposed 5 Step pay plan for this position would be: STEP 1 STEP 2 STEP 3 STEP 4 STEP 5 $8/hr. $8.50/hr. $9/hr. $9.50/hr. $10/hr. Funding for this position for the remainder of this year would come from the 1994 recycling budget that was funded by a Ramsey County SCORE grant. For 1995, the City expects to again receive SCORE funding from the County which would be used for recycling programs and personnel costs. If the Council approves this position, it is proposed that an advertisement be placed in Sunday's (10/2/94) paper. A draft of a job description and job advertisement are attached for your review.
