Consideration of Payment to Midwest Asphalt in the Amount of <br /> 7 $81, 001.80 for the Patching Contract <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, on behalf of Mike Ulrich the <br /> 10 Public Works Director who was unable to attend the meeting, reported <br /> 11 that the amount to be paid is over the bidded price because of the <br /> 12 extra work needed on some of the streets, i.e. , manholes needed to <br /> 13 be raised, numerous potholes, inadequate base material and severe <br /> 14 alligator cracking. Orduno reported that these conditions warranted <br /> 15 complete removal of a few segments of roads. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Wuori to Approve Payment of $81, 001.80 to <br /> 18 Midwest Asphalt for the Patching Contract <br /> 19 <br /> 20 VOTE: 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> 21 <br /> 22 REPORTS <br /> 23 <br /> 24 1. Reported that the City received a press release from the <br /> 37 Metropolitan Airport Commission that addresses the plans for the <br /> 38 Anoka County/Blaine Airport. Orduno reported that representatives <br /> 39 from the Metropolitan Airports Commission will be in attendance at <br /> 40 the Council's Work Session on October 3, to explain the Master Plan <br /> 41 update which addresses the potential for a parallel runway and an <br /> 42 air traffic control tower. Orduno encouraged members of the public <br /> 43 to attend as there will be representatives from the airport itself <br /> 44 to address any concerns that people might have. <br /> 45 <br /> 46 Report of Mayor Linke: <br /> 47 <br /> 48 . Mentioned that the Irondale Marching Band is having a gathering of <br /> 49 the bands from around the State of Minnesota (field show <br /> 50 competition) at Irondale High School this weekend. Twelve bands <br /> 51 will perform. Mayor Linke encouraged persons who were interested in <br /> 52 attending to contact Irondale High School. <br /> 53 <br /> 54 <br />
