Marketing: <br /> The first Marketing Task Force meeting was held last week. The <br /> turnout was low but those who participated are very enthusiastic <br /> about recommending marketing techniques for the City. They are <br /> so enthusiastic that they decided to meet again this week to <br /> discuss "Mounds View's Identity" . The task force feels it is <br /> important to first pin point an identity for Mounds View. Once <br /> this is established, all of the programs can be structured around <br /> the same theme. Each member of the task force was given homework <br /> assignments to ask at least three people a list of questions <br /> pertaining to the image of Mounds View. The task force is a <br /> great mix of people with excellent marketing skills. <br /> Outreach: <br /> • To fulfill a Focus 2000 recommendation and increase the communication <br /> between the City and the businesses, this week we mailed the first 2-page <br /> "Business Beat" Newsletter to all of Mounds View's businesses. The same <br /> information was included in the full City Newsletter. Thank you to Lynnette for <br /> all of her help! <br /> Highway 10 Inventory: <br /> • I am currently working on surveying the properties which abut Highway 10. <br /> have completed about 1/3 of the properties and hope to have at least half done <br /> by the end of the week. The survey should pin point clusters were <br /> redevelopment is feasible. This information will be reviewed by the Economic <br /> Development Commission. Their next meeting is November 17th were a first <br /> draft of the data will be presented. <br /> Cathy <br /> FINANCE <br /> . Open enrollment for Health Insurance is now in effect and will be until <br /> November 7th. Dental insurance open enrollment is in early April. The <br /> Commercial Life Insurance open enrollment period does not follow a set <br /> schedule. If you desire to change your life insurance dollar value or change <br /> your beneficiary, you may do this any time during the year. Those interested, <br /> please see me for the appropriate forms. <br /> . Public Employees Retirement Association also has a life insurance policy that <br /> you can sign up for. Their open enrollment period is late November, early <br /> December. I believe you will receive notice of this in the mail. If you would like <br />
