EQC MINUTES <br /> 9-20-94 <br /> PAGE TWO <br /> B. August 16, 1994 Minutes of the Regular EQC Meeting <br /> Chair Oman noted on Page 1, III. B., 2nd sentence, Chair Trotta should be changed <br /> to Chair Oman. <br /> As there was not a legal quorum, no formal action was taken on any minutes. <br /> IV. STAFF REPORT- <br /> No staff report was provided. <br /> V. OLD BUSINESS <br /> No action was taken on Old Business, since there was not a legal quorum. <br /> VI. NEW BUSINESS <br /> A. Staff Liaison Pruitt was directed by the Environmental Quality Commission <br /> to send a letter to EQC Member Timothy Madsen to verify if his continued <br /> particiaption in EQC meetings. Chair Oman noted he had already spoken <br /> with EQC Member James Mennel, and that Mr. Mennel was encouraged to <br /> attend EQC Meetings if he wished to continue participation with the EQC. <br /> VII. OTHER BUSINESS <br /> A. Chair Oman discussed can recycling, with an emphasis in public spaces. He <br /> suggested using color coded containers to label various types of recycling <br /> bins. The EQC expressed an interest in collaborating efforts with the Parks <br /> Department in order to encourage recycling in public places. <br /> B. Chair Oman also informed the EQC that Blaine and New Brighton's list of <br /> recylables included glass and aerosol cans. He expressed a future interest in <br /> obtaining information on what other cities are recycling and why Mounds <br /> View is not recycling the same items. <br /> C. EQC member Trotta provided additional details on the Adopt a River <br /> Project and U.S. Geological Survey's participation. He also noted the script, <br /> submitted by the EQC, is completed for cable television. <br />
