FINANCE • Our auditors were here last week for interim field work. They left us a list of schedules to prepare and information to gather. Finance staff will be busy preparing for the auditors return in March 1995. • A big "Thank you!" to Kitty Hickok who worked extra hours to get payroll checks completed on time during this short work week. • The County mailed notices of "Your Proposed Property Tax for 1995" last week to homeowners and businesses. I received mine on Friday November 18. As of Tuesday noon, neither I nor Samantha have received any telephone calls about the notices. Don POLICE * All of our officers qualified last week at the firing range. Officers Broos & Nelson conducted the "night shoot"(firing under low light conditions) This is one of four sessions we have thoughout the year. * New Brighton Police notified us that they are having an officer working at Irondale High School starting Nov. 21 . This is an officer that is having a baby in March. New Brighton is using this opportunity to "pilot" the liason officer program. * Our new tape-recording equipment arrived last week. You may remember that a court ruling requires us to tape statements from suspects. Price of this mandate so far $1500.00. * Bob Nelson is working this week and last in investigations. He will return to Patrol next week while Tom Baumgart is at DARE school. Tim R.
