Several department heads have vacation time that they must use before the end of the year or it will be lost time as of • January 1, 1994 . Each department is arranging vacations to provide for department coverage during the week following Christmas. Because so many employees will be on vacation that week, either all week or a portion of the week, I anticipate that the agenda for December 27th will be a very light one. Discussed at the meeting was the possibility of rescheduling the December 27th meeting to December 19th, the third Monday of the month. This would mean that we would have back to back Council meetings for three weeks, but also that the week between Christmas and New Years would be free. It would also mean that we would have Diane with us for all three meetings in December as she and her husband will be on vacation the week following Christmas. There is nothing either in the Code or the Charter that would prevent the Council from rescheduling a meeting. If the Council would wish to consider this for Tuesday's meeting, I have drafted the attached Resolution. I have not placed this item on the agenda because I view this not as recommended action, but merely as a suggestion. Please note that if the meeting is not rescheduled, such action will not, in any way, hinder the staff's ability to appropriately prepare for the December 27th agenda and meeting.
