PARKS AND RECREATION <br /> QUARTERLY REPORT <br /> PAGE TWO <br /> RECREATION <br /> * Fall programs began and ended, winter programs were planned <br /> and two Recreation Programs of Activities were prepared <br /> along with the City Newsletter. <br /> * Mary and Mary attended the National Congress of Parks and <br /> Recreation, held in Minneapolis. <br /> * Sharie attended a Conference for Festival managers. <br /> * Dana Willis concluded her internship with the department, <br /> spending 400 hours with us. <br /> * Special events were held to provide supervised activities <br /> for students during conferences and MEA days when school was <br /> not held. <br /> * Staff attended several cooperative venture meetings with <br /> various agencies and groups including Northwest Family Youth <br /> and Services, neighboring cities programming cooperatives, <br /> Festival Committee meeting with businesses and others, grant <br /> meetings for funding possibilities, school district meetings <br /> for cooperative youth programming and starting a feeder <br /> program for girls hockey, Youth Sports Director's meeting, <br /> etc. <br /> FORESTRY <br /> * Contracted tree removals were completed for 1994 . <br /> * Boulevard tree trimming was performed as time and budget <br /> allowed. <br /> * Park tree and landscape trimming was performed at each park. <br /> * The landscaping at City Hall was completed. <br /> * Boulevard tree planting was completed at Woodale. <br /> * Tree replacements were completed along Long Lake Road. <br /> * City trees were wrapped for winter. <br /> CABLE TV <br /> * The 1995 Budget Video was completed. <br /> * Monthly edition of the "View From the Mound" was completed. <br /> * Final completion of the projector installation in the <br /> council chambers. <br />
