The purpose of the meeting
was to discuss the Metropolitan Council's implementation of the 1995
Metropolitan Livable Communities Act.
One of the results of the meeting was the creation of a Livable
Communities Advisory Committee whose purpose would be to advise the
Metropolitan Council on the issues facing Metro area cities in their
plight to expand, develop and maintain livable housing opportunities in
their cities.
The Mayor has suggested that the City formally put forth the name of
Jennifer Bergman, Mounds View Housing Inspector/Coordinator, as a
candidate for appointment to the Committee. I have spoken with
representatives from the Metropolitan Council on this issue and they
have already received several names from area cities accompanied by j
letters of support. 1
The attached Resolution has been prepared for Council consideration and,
if approved, will be forwarded to the appropriate Metropolitan Council
staff.
0-4/04CL--
P4
Samantha Orduno, City Admin' trator
RZECOMMENDATION;
