Metropolitan Airports Commission Meeting
I will be attending a meeting with MAC representatives and area
City Administrators on Thursday afternoon. The purpose is to
discuss a proposed Noise Abatement Plan. I have included the
Agenda and Draft Abatement Plan for your review.
The members of the Airport Task Force were notified of the
meeting. I will forward them copies of the draft plan as well as
a summary of the meeting.
Water Meter Change Out Proposal
The special newsletter explaining the proposed water meter change
ouL plan has been sent to the—printer—and will be—mailed—to
residents on August 10 . The Information Meeting is slated for the
21st. Mike Ulrich prepared the newsletter as well as a more
detailed report which we have copies and made available at the
front counter. We asked Dave Janke to provide questions and we
did use some of his questions, others were not really pertinent
to the newsletter publication, but will be answered and included
in the more detailed report available at the front counter.
See you Monday!
- Samantha
Dynex Groundbreaking Ceremony:
• Dynex Industries began construction of their new building this
week. They held a ground breaking ceremony on Monday. They
expect to have the building completed and ready for occupancy
by January of 1996 .
Silver Lake Pointe Apartments:
• Jennifer and I had a tour of Silver Lake Pointe Apartments
last week. Commombond is currently showing the units to
tenants and allowing them to pick their units. They began
with the people who will be renting at market rate and will
begin assigning the remaining on a first-come, first-serve
basis . Leasing Agent Mary Thompson is willing to set up
another tour for any staff or Council.
Application for Communication Award:
• I have submitted an application for the 15th Annual City Hall
Public Information Awards Competition. This is a national
award through City Hall Communications, publishers of City
Hall Digest. The submission is for outstanding publications
produced by municipal governments and I have entered Mounds
View Matters. Awards will be announced in the fall of 1995
and we will receive a copy of the judges scores and comments
regarding our entry. Cathy
