To insure that ail protection efforts are made, I am asking that a"no violation" snow
fence be erected on the north side of the grove as far away from the trunks of the trees as
possible. Ideally, this barrier should be out to at least the drip liens of those trees to be preserved.
A screening berm to the north of this barrier(south side•of the construction zone) would best
include white pine,American linden(basswood) and Rubrum (red) maple to be placed as the
adjacent landscape dictates and allows for. These sites could be field-verified before the planting
of the trees. Small groupings of red-twig dogwood would further add to the screen.
Follow-up planting of trees on the west side of the project could include water tolerant species
such as river birch, rubrum maple, black ash, tamarack andsilver maple.
Any questions or comments can be forwarded to me at 638-2125. Thank you for your attention
to this matter.
Sincerely,
Rick Wriskey, Forester
City of Mounds View
•
G:\WPTRMV95\ANDERSON.LTR
I.. /crv tuu •
A
