At a <br /> prior work session, the City Council requested funding options for the <br /> $120, 000 match and funding for design and inspection services of <br /> approximately $65, 000 for a total City contribution of $185,000. The <br /> federal grant is $480,000. The estimated cost of the bridge <br /> construction project is $600, 000. Construction inspection services are <br /> estimated at $35,000 and design costs are estimated at $30,000. <br /> Enclosed are letters of support written by members of the community. <br /> Members of the Planning Commission prepared a letter of support which is <br /> also included in this packet. Construction of the pedestrian bridge is <br /> a goal of the Parks and Recreation Commission. Members of the Parks and <br /> Recreation Commission have written letters informing and encouraging <br /> residents to voice their desire for the pedestrian bridge. <br /> Also enclosed is a memorandum from Public Works Director Michael Ulrich <br /> stating annual estimated maintenance requirements for the pedestrian <br /> bridge once it has been constructed. This memorandum will address the <br /> concern of annual maintenance costs of the pedestrian bridge. <br /> Three funding options have been formulated for your review. One offers <br /> no use of TIF funding.
