COMMUNITY <br /> DEVELOPMENT <br /> LIVABLE COMMUNITIES ACT <br /> Staff attended a question and answer forum co-sponsored by the Association of <br /> Metropolitan Municipalities and the Metropolitan Council covering the Livable <br /> Communities Act and its' impacts on local units of government. The forum covered <br /> issues ranging from the required goal=setttng process to theineentive-and funding <br /> mechanisms involved in the program. Within the next month or so, Staff will be <br /> bringing the Council a plan for addressing and implementing the requirements of the <br /> Act. <br /> Paul <br /> PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY <br /> PARKS: <br /> Parks crew has been chipping trails at Silver View, continued mowing, and trash <br /> removal. Athletic field preparations for softball, soccer and football continue. <br /> The animal swings have been removed. Pictures have been taken to be included in <br /> an affidavit which is required to receive the discounted replacement equipment. <br /> RECREATION: <br /> Sharie held a babysitting instructional class this week, two afternoons. This is a class <br /> for youth 11 years and older. <br /> Sharie also chaperoned a daylong trip to Duluth on Tuesday. It was a huge success. <br /> FORESTRY: <br /> Rick has prepared and received bids for the tree planting program at Silver View <br /> Park. The low bid company will be used. Rick will stake the tree locations for <br /> planting. <br />
