What specific ideas do you have for re-use of the Arsenal site? <br /> 5/17 meeting(Seniors/Shoreview): <br /> Self-sufficient retirement community <br /> Public park including conservation and recreation areas <br /> Clean up pollution <br /> Modern technology businesses, like computer,telecommunications <br /> Schools-vo tech <br /> Tear down unusable buildings <br /> Use existing upgraded buildings <br /> Golf course and tennis courts <br /> Farming <br /> Senior community <br /> Petting zoo <br /> 14.. 5/19 meeting(Businesses/Mounds View): <br /> What we do want: <br /> Current county trail system, Long Lake etc. (Rice Creek corridor) <br /> Consistent with character of the region <br /> Remain compatible for existing wildlife <br /> Consistent with character of land forms <br /> Protect and enhance the vista, which is the highest point in the county <br /> Golf course <br /> Explore opportunities for community fields (things with lights on them) <br /> consideration for regional community fields <br /> Urban center/community center/region-serving node (beyond just recreation, including services) <br /> Plan for possibility of LRT reaching the site's possible village center(transit stop/terminal) <br /> Golf course which is integral with the community and other public open spaces <br /> Reflection on the past history of the site <br /> Successful conversion of existing businesses to non-military use <br /> Parts should be preserved for open space, wetlands,parks <br /> Grow local job base <br /> Opportunity to address access issues with 35W, 10, CRI, 96, Lexington, CRH2, Hamline <br /> Explore opportunities for Native Americans <br /> Continued contamination clean up funding by the federal government <br /> Feds fund it until they are done <br /> Carry cleanup process to its conclusion <br /> Any future use is compatible with the long range use plan of the city of Arden Hills <br /> We need to honor the community in which the Arsenal is located <br /> We need to check with surrounding communities--it must be sensitive to the needs of <br /> surrounding communities <br /> Some kind of mixed use which will aid the city, county, and school tax base <br /> A good part of the site could be used as a demo of a truly integrated community(new town) <br /> 11 <br />
