UNAPPROVED
Page 12
August 21, 1995
to the present system.

Ruth White, 2917 County Road I, stated she feels the changing over to the new system is
more for ease than due to faulty meters. She did not understand why they needed to
replace them.

Mayor Linke stated the present system is aged and will not be getting any better. It is
also very labor intensive.

Ms. White asked if the homeowner will have an option on the type of system or if it will
be mandatory.

Mayor Linke stated if the council chooses to selection Option#1,there will not be an
choice. Option#2 would allow for either phone or radio system.

Ms. White stated she would like to leave the system as it is. She further stated she
believes the Council has already made up their minds as to what they are going to do.
They are reviewing two systems and as noted in the newsletter, will make a decision in
August.

Council member Hankner stated as a council member, she along with the other council
members and staff, have carefully looked at the current system and she definitely feels
something needs to be done. No formal action has been taken by the council in regard to
this matter so a decision has not been made.

Council member Trude noted that both of the systems they are reviewing eliminate a
considerable amount of paperwork for staff Presently 3,000 cards go out and come in
quarterly. Additionally, the 12,000 cards must be keyed in each year.

Ms. White asked what will happen if she refuses a new water meter.

Mayor Linke stated that the City Council has considered assessing a penalty on top of the
water bill (i.e. $50.00/quarter).

Craig Weinmann stated that residents agree that Option#1 or Option#2 for the City
Council is no option for residents. He feels it is ridiculous and opposes both of these
options.

Mayor Linke closed the informational meeting at 9:40 p.m.

COUNCIL BUSINESS:
