• INTER
MEMO
OF FICE
To: Mayor and City Council
From: Jennifer Bergman, Housing Inspecto
Subject: 7618 Edgewood Drive
Date: September 11, 1995
Attached is Resolution No. 4813 for your approval. We continue to receive complaints from
neighbors and one remaining tenant regarding this property.
Recently, we discovered one upstairs unit has a door off its hinges and the other door is missing
the dead bolt lock and door knob. Inside the unit, burnt matches and paper and debris was found
making this a fire and safety hazard. In addition, we have received complaints from the tenant
directly below the vacant unit stating that people are running in and out of the unit at all hours.
City Attorney Jim Thomson that to secure the building informed us and protect it from
• trespassers, the Council must make an amendment to the original resolution. Attorney Thomson
stated that without the resolution securing the property would be considered trespassing.
Since we currently have two vacant units, we could take advantage of securing both of the units
now to avoid any problems in the future. The owner of this building has not paid his registration.
According to our Housing Code, the owner is in violation that gives us the authority to placard
the vacant units.
•
