She would like the neighborhoods to have a more active say than a <br /> 2 passive say as to what they want. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 Ms. Trude stated when she reviewed the notes from the two meetings held in <br /> 5 June, it was apparent that this is the direction the public thought the Council <br /> 6 was going. She was bothered by the section in the clause which talked <br /> 7 about the loss of an extremely high amount of mature trees. This could be <br /> 8 interpreted differently by an engineer than by the neighborhood itself. <br /> Problems may be viewed aeren yen <br /> y rest s an by engineers. Shfeels <br /> 10 the fourth paragraph of the resolution allows too much room for staff and <br /> 11 council to make decisions. She has heard from a lot of residents throughout <br /> 12 the summer and talked to some people who live on Fairchild recently who are <br /> 13 very concerned about the impact on their green space. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Ms. Hankner stated she is comfortable with the resolution, with the exception of <br /> 16 the fourth paragraph. She feels there should be a neighborhood meeting. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Ms. Orduno suggested that this paragraph be changed to read ". . . required <br /> 19 such as timber walls, or reductions of driveway slopes, the streets may be <br /> 20 constructed to a minimum width of 28 feet as determined by the feasibility <br /> 21 study as outlined in Section (XXX) of Chapter 202 and approval of a majority of <br /> 22 the homeowners of the affected street". <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Ms. Hankner stated she feels if residents request that the street width be <br /> 25 reduced to 28 feet or increased to 32 feet, they must have just cause. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Ms. Trude stated the resolution does not address impacts to the landscape <br /> 28 plans or the feeling of the neighborhood in the sense of community. There is <br /> 29 not going to be a concern about pulling out bushes, etc. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Mayor Linke stated if a resident has a bush that is planted on the city/county <br /> 32 right-of-way, <br /> 33 it isn't their property in the first place. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 Ms. Hankner noted that there is a sentence in paragraph four of the resolution <br /> 36 which states "...or be determined to be a detriment to the neighborhood such <br /> 37 as but not limited to, ..." <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Ms. Trude asked who determines whether or not it will be a detriment to the <br /> 40 neighborhood. <br /> 41 <br />
