The 1996 proposed rates for all taxing <br /> jurisdictions compared to 1995 actual rates is presented below. <br /> Property Tax Rates - 1995 & 1996 <br /> Jurisdiction Actual Proposed Change <br /> 1995 1995 <br /> Schools 65.036% 61.789% -3.247% <br /> County 44.692% 44.266% -0.426% <br /> City 26.029% 26.615% 0.586% <br /> Other 5.814% 5.639% -0.175% <br /> Total 141.571% 138.309% -3.262% <br /> Proposed 1996 property taxes on the average home in Mounds View ($85,302) would increase <br /> by $30.18, or 2.26% if these proposed rates are adopted. The City's proposed 1996 property <br /> tax levy is an increase of 6% over its 1995 levy. The taxes on the average home for all taxing <br /> jurisdictions is presented below. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br />
