Councilmember Quick
Will not be at Monday night's meeting as he will be out of town.
DOROTHY PETERSON
Dorothy's father passed away Wednesday night at the age of 100. The City sent
flowers and our condolences.
Samantha
I am attending the last week of training for the National Development Council's
Economic Development Finance Certification course. The homework is mind
boggling and time consuming. But, if I pass, I will be a certified Economic
Development Professional!!! The topics this last week is "Deal Structuring" for
both business financing and real estate.
▪ Lynnette and I mailed out an invitation for the next Mounds View Business
Association meeting on November 15 from 11:30-1:00 at the Mermaid. I have
attached a copy of the invitation.
▪ Lynnette is also mailing out the Business Beat to Mounds View Businesses this
week.
▪ The Phase I environmental on the Blue House will begin next week and if all
goes as planned the City will close on the property on November 20.
Cathy
ARM Meeting
Thursday, October 26, I attended an ARM (Association of Recycling Managers)
meeting at Edgecumbe Community Center in St. Paul. The committee presented a
final report on the Health House/OEA Grant Project. The project consisted of
remodeling an existing home using recyclable products. A tour of the Health House,
associated with the MN Waste and Recycling Fall Conference, was attended by
approximately 12 people. Members of the Health House Committee felt that this was
a successful effort. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle displays were placed throughout the
house which included helpful tips on how to follow the RRR theme. The Health
House was also toured during the weekend of September 29-October 21 for the
Remodelers Show. There were many positive comments on the project.
